Vietnam is an Eastern country in Southeast Asia on the South China Sea. The diverse climate provides a home to many different varieties of plant life.

Lotus

The lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) is the national flower of Vietnam. It is an aquatic perennial plant that blooms from early July to late August. The leaves float on top of the water's surface and can grow up to 2 feet in diameter. The flowers grow on thick stems that rise 2 to 3 inches above the water and can grow as large as 8 inches wide. The blooms are pink or white and are open during the day and close at night. The lotus prefers full sun throughout the day.

Peach Flower

The peach (Prunus persica) is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 30 feet tall. The low-acidic white flesh peaches are very popular in Asian countries. The peach flower is a popular flower all throughout the Vietnam region. It blooms in spring and is pink with five petals. Peach trees cannot tolerate frost or drought conditions. They prefer full sun and well-drained soils.

Yellow Apricot Flower

The yellow apricot flower (Hoa Mai) is a perennial, flowering plant that blooms from early spring to summer. The yellow flowers grow in clusters on long stalks. The plant is grown in flowerbeds, gardens and pots indoors. The yellow apricot plant usually grows to a height of 4 feet. It prefers full sun and well-drained soils.

Chrysanthemum

The chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum) is a perennial flowering plant that is native to Asia and Europe. The plant can grow up to 6 feet tall with lobed leaves. The flowers bloom in the fall and range in color from white, yellow, pink, purple, red or orange. Chrysanthemums can adapt to nearly any kind of soil but they need full sun in order to produce the best blooms. These flowers are susceptible to many types of pests so they should be sprayed with a pesticide to prevent disease.
