Inaugurated in 2010, the Cala Gonone aquarium is a work of modern architecture, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub of the bay of Cala Gonone, on the Gulf of Orosei.

Description

It allows you to explore the depths of the Mediterranean Sea (with a hundred of the most representative species) and tropical seas. The main tank has a volume of 450 cubic meters and is one of the largest in Italy. It houses 26 tanks along the exhibition route, an interactive wall dedicated to the most famous predators of the sea and a tactile tank where visitors can touch rays, hermit crabs and starfish. The last tank built houses the piranhas and has a volume of 6,000 liters where the typical South American river environment, the area of ​​origin of these fish, has been recreated.

Information for the visit

The visits are made for groups of minimum 20 people. It is not possible to use the guided tour service without booking.
Animals, food and drinks are not allowed on the route. You can shoot and take photos without using the flash.
