Description

The Poggio Spedaletto biogenetic nature reserve is an extension of the Padule and Coastal oasis. The protected area is located on the homonymous Poggio Spedaletto, where remains of Etruscan settlements have been found. In the reserve there are evergreen woods with a prevalence of holm oak and a pine tree pine forest with a rich undergrowth where the cuddly juniper stands out. Among the fauna species, we find several mammals (wild boar, fox, marten, weasel, porcupine, badger and hedgehog) and birds (wood pigeon, jay, several passerines, buzzard, owl, barn owl and kestrel).
