Morphological characteristics
Carpoforo: not larger than a chicken egg; the color of the peridium is black or brownish with warts much smaller than the Tuber aestivum.
Gleba: yellowish, brown or gray-brown color with light veins and labyrinth shape.
spore:large spores, dark brown-ocher with rather depressed honeycomb lattice and narrow links.
Edibility, habitat and observations
Relationship with the surrounding plant environment: symbiote mushroom.
Good edible.
It grows underground in late summer-autumn under broad-leaved trees in clay soils.
